Myanmar has some goldmines
and the largest
part of the yellow metal is washed out from
the rivers. The Irrawaddy east of Shwebo is
one of this spots where every day the gold
washers are active.
this is not far away from the biggest ruby
and sapphire mines in the country which is
at Mogok about 120km north of Mandalay.

Chindwin and Namma Creek at the Thanlwin
Gold panning is
done in the northern part of the country
since hundreds of years and they quite a lot
of the yellow metal.
