Bagan is one of
the richest archaeological sites in Asia with about

when the British vanished also the travel infrastructure did.
There have been several excellent books from Mr. Kingdon - Ward, a
British botanist and others published in the 194x ties on travel the
mountains of the north, but all are not available anymore. The
mountains of the north are for the people who have been everywhere, seen
everything but want to have a controlled risk about new frontiers, not
ending up with some mad people like in
it doesn't
take to much effort
since it is possible to
reach almost any place by airlines
plus train, bus and local
taxis. The

people the
Burmese are the largest
group. It is the Burmese
idiosyncrasy that gives its
fascination and its charm. Of
the other ethnic groups the smallest and
most backward are the Salone
or sea gypsies, who inhabit
the islands off the southern
coast, mainly in the Mergui
or Myeik archipelago,
further south in Thailand
they are called
Moken. They are
probably the oldest
inhabitants of
south
Myanmar state and
southern Thailand
all the way down to the
Tarutao Islands on the
border between Thailand and
Malaysia.

immigration from the north.
Of these the earliest is
represented by the Mon or Talaing, who also stretched
all the way down to
present day

feed their colonial
purpose, like the old
Romans
did, divide and conquer.

enough, the Brits and
USA brought the 2.
world war into the
country together with
the Japanese and
Chinese, now the helter skelter was perfect. Today this European and
US warmonger scream
against the government
because they give a damn
what the European and US
are telling, the present
government learned the
very bad lesson from the
past. The Brits and US
buttheads never learned
anything as everyone can

orchid nurseries
but they are not as sophisticated raised
and shown as

performances usually
playing
mythical themes. Substantial
nightlife
is available at
Yangon and some
towns at the Chinese
border, where plenty
of Chinese men cross
the border to have
some fun in the
night.
Actually at
the border the
nightlife driven by
the Chinese is even
more hot than
Bangkok nightlife
since everything
goes and is allowed.
