Burmese girls trying to make a living

This is a very poor country and unfortunately kids have a very hard life, they work in various sectors, but not very visible. As a household helper, working in a closed workshop but mostly in the agrarian sector or just hang around at places where people come together and trying to sell all kind of things.

Very popular is also selling souvenirs to tourists because they know that foreigners on vacation are often spending some money if they see they can help with it.

Child labor is the result of poverty and illiteracy almost everywhere and poor children have to contribute to family income, this is a cycle where they cant get out and actually a worldwide problem. Just as an example, some time ago I was sitting in a restaurant on a Brazilian Airport went to get something and when I came back to the table there was a maybe 13 year old girl sitting there eating the rest which was on my plate.

I was somehow shocked because they shouldn't do that, imagine I have some sickness and this would be transferred to her, luckily I am not sick but it looked to me as if this never crossed her mind.

Now I asked her what she would like to eat gave her some money and watched that she really bought and eat the stuff. After I was thinking about some Chinese I saw once in Shanghai who ordered and ordered and left plenty on the table just useless.

Here are some pics of Myanmar kids for a better understanding.
