Pathein.
Traveling by road does have advantages
such as affording you the valuable experience found in the countryside. You
won’t get such an experience via any other means, especially the grand
venture towards
the west coast through Pathein to Chaungtha and Ngwe Saung Beach. Chaungtha
beach hotels are more for the local vacationers. Ngwe Saung Beach Hotels are
quite attractive and easily reach western standard. On the other end, there
is a typical reasonable low budget hotel in Yangon is the
Queens Park Hotel or
Queens Park Hotel Down Town Yangon.

apart, but for about
half the price of the
Trader Hotel. The Asia
Plaza Hotel was built
and is run by people who
don't know how to build
a hotel and also don't
know how to run a hotel.
Its extremely versatile,
means it might work or
it might not. They have
2 floors which are with
rooms not so bad, but
maybe one day the water
doesn't work, next day
the elevator wont work
and everyday all the
emergency exits are
blocked. So if anything
happen, where you go ?
A good alternative on
the budget level is the Queens
Park Hotel,
the rooms are very basic
but everything works and
also for about US$ 20,- |

always recommended to either
book a tour or if you want to be
on your own and explore the
rather remote areas take a guide
with you, that is not expensive
