                                                   Yangon - Bagan - Heho - Pindaya - Inle Lake - Yangon


YANGON

DAY 1 MON: Meet on arrival at Yangon International Airport by morning flight. Transfer to hotel. An afternoon sightseeing tour includes the old colonial-style city center, the gilded SULE PAGODA, dating back over 2,000 years, and tranquil Kandawgyi Lake with the KARAWEIK HALL, a royal floating barge. This is an ideal spot to take pictures of the lake and the beautiful gardens and trees lining its shores. An extended visit to SHWEDAGON PAGODA, one of the world's most spectacular religious monuments, will conclude the tour of this picturesque Garden City. The golden dome of Shwedagon Pagoda rises 98 meters above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold. Lunch to own account. Dinner and overnight at Traders Hotel (member of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts) in Yangon.

Yangon - Bagan (B/L/D)

DAY 2 TUE: Transfer to Yangon Airport for domestic flight to Bagan. Upon arrival in Bagan, transfer to hotel and proceed on a sightseeing tour, starting with a busy local market and continuing with visits to a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples such as SHWEZIGON PAGODA, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, GU BYAUK GYI, a temple with exquisite Jataka mural scenes, KHAY MIN GA TEMPLE, noted for its spectacular panoramic view of many area monuments, and ANANDA TEMPLE, with its four huge standing-Buddha images and numerous seated figures arranged around the interior gallery.
Lunch is followed by a visit to a lacquer craftmen's workshop in nearby MYINKABA village. Sightseeing continues with visits to MANUHA TEMPLE, built in Mon style in 1059, NANBAYA TEMPLE, a unique sandstone monument that is said to have been the palace of King Manuha, and MYINGABA GU BYAUKGYI TEMPLE (under the protection of UNESCO), noted for its ancient mural paintings. Board a small local boat late in the afternoon for a sunset cruise on the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River. Dinner and overnight in Bagan.

Bagan - Heho - Pindaya - Inle Lake (B/L/D)

DAY 3 WED: Transfer to Nyaung Oo (Bagan) Airport for domestic flight to Heho. Upon arrival in Heho, proceed by road to Pindaya (65 km - 11/2 hours) to visit PINDAYA CAVES, where pilgrims placed thousands of Buddha images over the span of many centuries. Lunch at a simple restaurant. After lunch, drive by road to INLE LAKE (90 km - 21/2 hours). Transfer by boat to the hotel on the lake. Dinner and overnight on Inle Lake.

Inle Lake (B/L/D)

DAY 4 THU: Take a boat excursion on scenic Inle Lake to see the famous leg rowers, typical floating gardens, local methods of fishing and village life. Lunch at a local restaurant on the lake. Further visits are made to PHAUNGDAW OO PAGODA, the weaving village of INPAWKHON and other sights. Dinner and overnight on the lake.

Inle Lake - Heho - Yangon (B/L/-)

DAY 5 FRI: Morning visit to a colorful market in the Inle Lake region, then proceed to Heho Airport. Return flight to Yangon. Our car and guide will be at clients' disposal for further sightseeing or shopping. Opportunity to visit Bogyoke (Scott's) Market (closed on Mondays) until departure by international flight in the evening.
